Munns family.com Hi, welcome to our family genealogy site. This documents the history of the Munns family from Portsmouth, England which can be traced as far back as the Danish vikings. The name is a reference to our families place of residence, prior to the norman conquest in 1066, Moion, near St Lo in the Basse Normandy region of France. Our English heritage actually began with Sir William De Moion arriving in Kent in 1205. Our coat of arms shows a castle in an orange triangle with 2 circles in a black background topped by a knights helmet with an arm holding an animals claw protruding from the top. An optional latin inscription was added sometime in the 14th century and reads 'Omnia Vincit Veritas' meaning truth conquers all things. While this is the main focus of our site we will also be adding as much information as possible regarding all the other associated family names. You can access these from our family tree or from the links below. As you can imagine this is a complex ongoing project so, keep watching this space ! Here is a block diagram of all the family names linked to us (so far). They are all currently the male surname lines only although, I will also be creating the female lines (by birth) at some point in the future.
